We aren’t meant to grieve along; grief is meant to be shared and held in community. Grief groups (pet specific and non-pet specific) are held all across the country, virtually and in-person:

If you find that your grief has extended beyond your ability to cope, please consider reaching out for professional support:

  • Psychology Today - filter by specialty (“grief’)

  • Ask your local vet for referrals to pet loss specialists or veterinary social workers who can support

In-Home Euthanasia

If you are able to doula your companion animal to the other side at home, there are many agencies across the country (USA) who provide in-home euthanasia, as well as disposition and bereavement services.

I personally used Lap of Love to doula my soul cat, Mau Mau, but please do your research for the best fit.
